Frequently Asked Questions
1. Access and Transportation
How do I get to your house?
The nearest airport is Lyon Saint-Exupéry. From there, you can take the TGV to Mâcon Loché (2 hours from Paris) or a regional train to Belleville-sur-Saône (35 minutes from Lyon city center). I can pick you up from either of these stations. If you prefer to drive, the journey is beautiful (though winding), and there is easy, free parking at our house.
Do I need to rent a car?
We recommend renting a car if you want to explore the area or enjoy dinners at local restaurants. You can rent a car in Lyon city center or at Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport, which allows you to avoid driving through the city.
If you decide not to rent a car, there are beautiful walking paths nearby, and the local bakery/grocery store is just a 15-minute walk away.
Can you help me organize transportation?
Yes, I’d be happy to assist you with train schedules, car rentals, or arranging transfers from nearby stations.
2. Accommodation and Amenities
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, well-behaved and well-groomed pets are welcome. I have a friendly cat named Titi.
Is there a washing machine in the flat?
No, but you are welcome to use mine during your stay.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.
3. Meals and Dietary Needs
Can you adapt meals to my dietary requirements?
Absolutely! I'm happy to adjust my cooking to meet your needs, whether vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or other preferences.
What kind of meals will I have during my stay?
For lunch, I prepare homemade meals, often with local ingredients or produce from my garden, showcasing French cuisine and adapting to your preferences.
4. Activities and Experience
Can the person traveling with me participate in activities if they don't speak French?
Yes! The person accompanying you—whether it’s a partner, family member, or friend—is welcome to join on excursions. They are also invited to share meals with us, creating opportunities to enjoy the French culinary experience together.
However, please note that if you are accompanied by a non-French speaker, the immersive experience may be less intense, as we might occasionally switch to English to ensure everyone feels comfortable. That said, I will always prioritize creating opportunities for you to practice and improve your French during your stay
What levels of French do you accept?
